5 Ways to Consume Hi Well Manuka Honey

There are many different ways to consume Manuka honey in our daily lives other than having it as it is. Through diverse ways and easy instructions, we can all maintain healthy well-being through delicious recipes.

MANUKA HONEY BRULEE

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium free-range egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or seeds of 1 vanilla bean pod
  • 3 tablespoons manuka honey
  • 1 orange zest, finely grated
  • 600 ml cream
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar for grilling

How to Cook:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C. In a mixing bowl whisk egg yolks, vanilla, honey, and orange zest together until it goes smooth.
  2. Slowly pour cream into egg mixture, and continue to whisk. Pour custard into a jug, then pour the custard evenly into six dishes from the jug.
  3. Place the dishes in a large baking dish. Pour in enough hot water to reach halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Carefully transfer to oven and cook for 50–60 minutes until the brulees are just set, with a slight wobble in the middle.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, then place in the fridge for at least a few hours or in the freezer for 30 minutes to set.
  5. When ready to serve, evenly sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar over each brulee. Use a blow torch to caramelise the sugar; the caramel will harden after about 1 minute.

BANANA SMOOTHIE WITH HONEY AND CINNAMON

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 150ml trim milk
  • 150g your choice of Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon manuka honey
  • 1 large pinch of ground cinnamon

How to Cook:

  1. Chop a banana into large chunks and place it in a blender.
  2. Pour in 150ml trim milk and add 150g Yogurt with 1 teaspoon of manuka honey and a large pinch of ground cinnamon.
  3. Blend until it goes smooth, pour into a glass and serve, sprinkled with a little more ground cinnamon.

OVERNIGHT OATS WITH MANUKA HONEY

Ingredients:

  • 115g of wholegrain oats
  • 115ml of milk
  • 115g of chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of manuka honey

How to Cook:

  1. Add oats and chia seeds to a small jar or bowl.
  2. Pour in milk and drizzle manuka honey over the top. Stir well with a spoon to combine.
  3. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least two hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the oats to absorb the liquid and soften.
  4. In the morning, add your favourite toppings and enjoy it at home or on-the-go. Stir in some yoghurt for extra creaminess.

GREEK YOGHURT, BANANA AND MANUKA HONEY WITH GRANOLA

Ingredients:

  • 10g of chopped almonds
  • 10g of rolled oats
  • 10g of linseeds
  • 10g of sunflower seeds
  • 10g of pistachio kernels
  • 10g of dried cranberries
  • 4 teaspoon Manuka honey
  • 4 teaspoon water
  • 1 banana 
  • 8 tablespoon Greek yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 10g of butter salted

How to Cook:

  1. Start by toasting the almonds and rolled oats in a hot frying pan.
  2. In the meanwhile chop the banana into small rounds.
  3. Prepare the honey syrup by adding a teaspoon of water for every teaspoon of honey. If you feel that it’s reached the right consistency before you add the last one, stop there.
  4. Roughly chop the pistachio kernels and dried cranberries.
  5. When the almonds and rolled oats are toasted add the cranberries, linseeds, sunflower seeds, chopped pistachios and chopped cranberries.
  6. Leave to cook in medium heat for a few minutes and add the brown sugar.
  7. To finish the granola, add the butter and let it melt so it coats everything. Let it cook for 2 minutes and remove so it cools down.
  8. Divide the chopped banana by the 4 bowls and cover with honey syrup and then add 2 tablespoon Greek yoghurt to each bowl.
  9. Top with the nut and seed granola.

HOT MANUKA HONEY TEA

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 115ml or more hot water

How to Cook:

  1. Start by toasting the almonds and rolled oats in a hot frying pan
  2. Put honey and lemon juice into a tea cup or mug. Add hot water and stir. Add more lemon juice, honey, or hot water to taste.
